Each summer, the Admissions Office reviews our policies and procedures from the past year. We discuss what worked well and what didn’t, and any new ideas we’d like to incorporate into the next admissions cycle. This past summer, more Skype interviews were at the forefront of that discussion.
We’ve made this abundantly clear the past few weeks, but to reiterate: While optional, we consider interviews to be an incredibly important part of our application. That said we also understand that many of our applicants are busy with school or at work. They may not have the time or means to travel to Chicago for an interview. In years past, that has been where our off-campus interview program comes in. But we only have a certain number of alumni interviewers in each location. While our off-campus interview program has an incredibly large base, we still weren’t able to accommodate everyone.
This year we’ve revamped our interview program to include an extensive number of Skype interviews for our JD program applicants who just can’t come to campus and who don’t live near one of our alumni interview locations. Offered Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays, we have Skype interviews from morning until mid-afternoon on Central Standard Time. Staff and student interviewers conduct Skype interviews, and you can interview through Skype before or after you’ve submitted an application.
We’ve tried to make our admissions interviews even more accessible to prospective students. So take advantage! We can’t wait to meet you.
