Off-campus interview availability!

Because of an increase in our application volume, most major cities are closed for off-campus interviews. We are currently working on a two-week backlog for assignments. Therefore, even if a city is listed as available for an off-campus interview, there is a chance that we could exhaust our interview slots before assigning you to an interviewer there. At this point, we recommend conducting an online video interview

The GRE for 2017-2018

Northwestern Pritzker School of Law will be accepting the GRE for Fall 2018 admission.  Here is a quick admissions related FAQ.  Further information regarding our overall decision to accept the GRE can be found here

1. If I have taken the GRE only, how do I apply to the JD program?

Please complete the JD application and this supplemental form. We are in the process of receiving our code from ETS for official GRE score reports.  Once the code is available, we will forward this information and any additional steps necessary via e-mail to those that have completed the form.

2.  Can I submit an unofficial GRE score report?

No, we will only accept official reports from ETS for review.

3.  What is the oldest score you will accept?

Five years

4.  Am I required to submit a LSAC CAS report if I only have a GRE score?

Yes, the LSAC CAS report is required for all JD applicants.

5.  If I have taken the GRE and the LSAT, how do I apply to the JD program?

Please complete the JD application.  If you wish to have your GRE considered with your LSAT score, please submit the supplemental form.  We will receive your LSAT score through the CAS report.

6.  If I have taken the GRE and the LSAT, am I required to submit my GRE scores?

No, you can submit only your LSAT score.

7.  Can I apply to the Binding Early Decision program this year with only the GRE?

No, the LSAT is required.

Early decision hold

Lots of questions flooding the inbox on this topic.  Here’s a few quick hits:

  1.  Additional letters of recommendation and transcript updates should be sent directly to LSAC.
  2.  At this point in the process, four letters of recommendation are the most we will consider.
  3. Letters of continued interest should be sent via e-mail in PDF form to admissions@law.northwestern.edu
  4. ED Holds will be reviewed after the ED Hold response deadline.  Nothing will go out sooner.
  5. An e-mail will go out when updated decisions are ready for release. A new decision letter will then be uploaded into the system.

As more general questions come in, we will try to update here for everyone’s benefit.  The office will be closed for the holidays (12/23-1/2).  We will be open on 1/3.

Snow Days!

Now that the cold weather and snow are upon us, here are the procedures regarding closures, cancellations, and on-campus interviews.

1.  If the University is closed, the Office of Admissions is closed.  We will contact you when we reopen regarding rescheduling.

2.  If you need to do a full reschedule (move the date altogether) due to inclement weather, please contact the admissions office to do so.  Either call:  312-503-8465 or e-mail:  admissions@law.northwestern.edu.

3.  If you are running late due to inclement weather, also, please contact the admissions office.  We will try to work you into the schedule during office hours, if possible.  There is a possibility we may need to do a full reschedule.

4.  All updates will be posted via this blog and Twitter @tweetsbyjohann.  Please check!
